Eckart Lorenz

Eckart Lorenz (1938 - 2014) was a great scientist, a leader and humanist, a charismatic person, who could convince people in his pioneering ideas and lead them to success.
Whenever necessary, he was tough, fighting for his scientific convictions and belief. He was a real enthusiast of science, innovation and progress.
He has been one of the founders and the real moving force behind the HEGRA and MAGIC collaborations, an absolute professional in photo-sensors, a real expert in high-energy physics and in nuclear medicine, and a very big physics enthusiast in general.

The MAGIC Collaboration will miss him, his know-how and advice, and his company very much.
